Sponge-Jet,
the world leader in dry, low dust abrasive
blasting announced that Sponge-Jet blasting
has been approved and included in NAVSEA
Preservation Process Instructions (PPIs).
Three new PPIs have been released and allow
for the Sponge-Jet technology to be used
for repair in bilge and ballast tanks of
the US Navy fleet.
“We are thrilled that
the US Navy recognizes the low dust and low
rebound attributes of Sponge-Jet blasting… now
government contracted shipyards and Navy
Preservation teams can enjoy the speed of
blasting without the use of hand-tools. It
is now easier to perform high-quality weld
seam and spot repairs, gaining a much longer
operating life compared to mechanical surface
preparation - saving the time and money.”
The new PPIs are currently
available by contacting Sponge-Jet at 603-431-6435
and are available on the National Surface Treatment
Center’s web site at www.nstcenter.org.
